We have been exploring Rainbow Facts to 10. Rainbow Facts are two numbers that when added together make 10.The Foundation children have been practising and representing Rainbow facts in different ways. Today used  hand-on learning with the 10-frame trains to demonstrate their knowledge.

The year 1s explored the place value position of numbers when making two-digit numbers. They played a game called ‘Apple Tree” After rolling the dice, they needed to decide which would be the tens and ones, then decide where to place the number on the ladder to be able to sequence the numbers, in order to climb the ladder to reach the apples in the tree. Children worked in pairs to help each other by talking and demonstrating reasoning for their decisions.
