This week was National Science Week. The theme was Deep Blue. During the week we discussed the ocean, what we use oceans for and talked about oceans that we have visited. We also watched a short video from George the Farmer, which explained the ocean as a habitat, the rock lobster industry, and also showed us a science experiment and an art activity.

During discovery play learning during the week, children had the opportunity to create a Deep Blue inspired art/craft piece. Most children chose to engage in this on Wednesday afternoon. Children used their creativity to create animals out of craft materials, drawings, paper ocean scenes and also using nature items to create an ocean habitat.
